 Who Am I?
For as long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed working with people and exploring new areas of expertise. So, after careers as a computer programmer and teacher, I decided to blend my love of people and learning to build a career as a Realtor. I pride myself on being extremely personable and professional, knowledgeable and responsive. I always keep my sense of humor to help my clients deal with any of the stresses of home buying and selling. The level of trust I have with my clients, other realtors, and vendors is what has enabled me to grow my business through a strong referral system. Everyone involved in each transaction knows they can count on me to make sure they are being taken care of and that I am available to answer any questions and solve any problems. I was the recipient of The International Diamond award at Coldwell Banker in 2007 and 2008 (Top 7% Worldwide!) and a Ruby Award at Century 21 in 2006. I have made the top 2% of NAR realtors nationally in the last half of 2008, in the midst of a recession and difficult, unstable economic times. I received the 2010 "5 Star Realtor Award" in San Diego based on a survey from 25,000 recent home buyers who were asked to evaluate with whom they have had direct/personal experience. From that evaluation, the top 5 Realtors in each city were chosen. I am deeply grateful for all of my clients, friends and associates for entrusting me with their business and their referrals that made it possible for me to achieve these honors.
To do the best job I can for my clients, I market my listings outside California and the United States. By using the power of Internet, I can reach the national and international market. I can especially help anyone outside the area who is looking to relocate to San Diego. I also love to work with those who are looking to buy their first or next home. There's nothing more satisfying than helping someone find their dream home. With sellers, I know I can effectively market their properties through my extensive marketing and advertising channels and through networking with other realtors. My online presence allows my sellers to reach a broader market, and buyers anywhere in the world to find the ideal North San Diego County property. Since I'm comfortable with technology, I'm able to use it as a key tool to provide essential information to my clients at lightning speed.
I have lived in San Diego for over 30 years, and I consider myself a specialist in the communities of La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Cardiff By The Sea, Encinitas/Leucadia, Olivenhain, Rancho Santa Fe, & Carlsbad. I can easily pass along to my clients any details about these areas that might make a difference for them when purchasing a home. Additionally, I've been very active by participating in community and school functions, sports, and volunteer programs in Encinitas & Carlsbad, and I've been fortunate to have developed long-term friendships with residents of the area, which allows me to expand my marketing efforts.
I have been married for the past 29 years to a wonderful man who is a Program Manager for ViaSat, a local communications company. We have two children, who attended North County schools, and are now in college. Our son is finishing school at Cal State studying Criminal Justice, and our daughter is attending U.C. Berkeley, where she is also playing Division I Field Hockey. When I can take time away from my business, I enjoy watching Field Hockey, Lacrosse, soccer, and baseball games because of my kids' years of involvement with these sports. When we can get away from our busy lives, we love to travel and meet people from all over the world.

Real Estate Contracts >Legal Documents
The stacks of papers that you have to sign in order to buy a house can leave you confused. The person conducting the closing will ask you to sign your name to countless documents that are filled with legal jargon. Some buyers just barely glance at each form and sign them without a lot of questions, while others find it very frustrating to try to read every form at the closing table.
You should read and understand the papers you sign. If you are getting a loan to buy the property, most of the paperwork will come from the mortgage company. In most cases, there is little time to read everything in advance because the forms arrive at the closing office shortly before closing is scheduled to begin. Most of the documents use standardized language, however, and you should be able to get copies of the documents ahead of time from the lender so that you can have your questions answered and be comfortable with the settlement process.
